Bio:

Richelle Greabeiel (b. Alberta, lives and works in Vancouver, BC; the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Wautuh peoples), is an emerging, multidisciplinary artist. Since 2019, Richelle keeps an art practice focused on investigating the production of multi-sensory experiences through conceptual and studio-based inquiry. Her works are inspired by materiality and its connections to the natural environment and often result in site-responsive installations.

Statement:

Richelle Greabeiel’s work focuses on the reciprocal relationship between the self and its environment. Themes of identity, heritage, and the politics of (re)presentation of the self are also prevalent in her practice via research and art-based experimentation. In her works, Richelle utilizes photography, video, performance, sculpture, installation, poetry, clay, fibres, wood and found ephemera.
