over exposed

over exposed is an art piece incorporating portraiture, sculpture and installation. It was photographed in a deserted building on Cát Bà island in Vietnam. The “dress” was designed using every plastic bag that was given to me within a set number of days. No other materials or fasteners were used. The face mask is a common defence worn by women in Vietnam to protect their skin from sun exposure. Such a powerful dichotomy- fearing the impact of sun exposure on skin & inversely, the impact on the environment (ozone) with prolific plastic waste.

This ongoing body of work explores the raw vulnerability of exposure in both its physical and emotional forms.
